About the role:
The primary purpose of this role is to carry out the inspection of both piece parts and assemblies using a Faro Measurement arm, and to operate and assist with final inspection using a CMM.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform mechanical inspection and alignment of precision assemblies on in-house as well as vendor produced mechanical components.
Set-up and operate metrology equipment including conventional coordinate measuring machines and/or portable articulating arm coordinate measuring machines (e.g. Faro).
Read and interpret elementary engineering drawings in order to be able to properly set-up parts/assemblies for CMM measurement.
Utilise and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Standards.
Communicate with others to gain a clear understanding of design intent for each project.
Clearly and effectively report measurement results to stakeholders.
Providing proactive support and judgement on product quality to production teams.
Support and organise dimensional PPAP documentation to customer approval.
Document and evaluate historical data to determine calibration intervals
Ensuring that the interests of the customer are represented.
Clean and maintain a safe work area.
To always comply with the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
Candidates must have the following essential qualifications and experience:
Degree, HND, HNC or significant experience in engineering environment
Demonstrated experience using FARO/CMM equipment with software packages Polyworks, Calypso, CAM2M10.
The following are desirable:
Experience of working within heavy fabrication
Current driving licence
